It is located about 40 minutes from the Duck Dynasty Warehouse, which has a great self-guided tour. The park offers visitors a chance to hike on trails leading to the lake, which has a very nice dock for kayaking. There are no campsites directly on the lake, but nature trails provide access to it. The bath house is clean and well-maintained. The check-in process is efficient and kind. Laundry prices are reasonable, and they use the Payrange App. The park is a hot spot during perch season. Overall, Poverty Point Reservoir State Park is a wonderful surprise in a convenient location, with attentive staff, and a great value.
