What others are saying
Lake Bistineau State Park in Doyline, LA is a great place for RV camping. This state park is clean, quiet, and has beautiful scenery. The sites are asphalt and offer plenty of shade, but some roads need repaving. There are trees close to the road edges, so backing in can be a bit challenging. However, the staff is friendly, and the park was very well-maintained. The lake was drawn down to control an invasive water plant, but this created a unique opportunity to walk on the dry lake bottom and explore the cypress trees that are normally submerged. The park has hiking trails through the swamp woods and along the lake, providing great views. Utilities are available, including 20/30/50A electric and water with good pressure. There is no sewer, but a dump station is provided. AT&T and Verizon both have two bars of LTE service, with no Wi-Fi available. Overall, Lake Bistineau State Park is a great place to camp, and we would definitely stay here again.
