This campground is a great place to stay for a few days. It is conveniently located near Hammond and is easy to find with good signage. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the grounds are well maintained with mowed grass and clean roads. There is a large shaded open area with a pond in the back loop, but unfortunately you have to pay $10 a day per person to swim in it. There are pull-through sites for those who are done driving for the day and need a place to stop. The interior roads need some work, as there are many potholes filled with water. The lake is nice for walking your dog, but there is some noise from the nearby I-12 freeway.
