This campground is a great place for a one-night stay or a family reunion. Located on the Calcasieu River on River Road, the park is just four miles north of I-10 in the northeastern quadrant of Lake Charles. It is a small park with only 8 pull thru sites, each with a concrete pad, water and electricity hookups, a picnic table, bbq grill and fire ring, and its own USA flag. The roads leading to the park are well paved and there are signs leading to the park. The campground is well lit and there is someone living on site, making it a safe and friendly place. There is a boat launch for motor and paddle vessels, a playground for the kids, and a covered pavilion close by. The bathrooms are spotless and the dump station is huge, but the showers are a bit dated. The park is quiet and immaculate, and the neighbors dogs ran loose all night. Verizon service is 3 bars and LTE, and OTA TV is strong. The camp host is friendly and a great source of information. This is a great spot for a stopover of a night or two.

White Oak Park is a scenic campground located on the west fork of the Calcasieu River in Southwest Louisiana. It features an Acadian style pavilion, eight RV camper sites, four tent campsites, a public boat launch, fishing wharf, picnic tables with barbecue pits, public restrooms, and a playground. The park is open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
