Fontainebleau State Park is located in Mandeville, LA, 40 minutes away from New Orleans and 20 minutes from Slidell. The campground is divided into a North and South section. The North section has larger and more spacious sites, back-in sites, and several crescent-shaped pull-throughs that can accommodate large trailers. The South section has a mix of back-in and pull-through sites, but with smaller pull-throughs. Most sites have asphalt or concrete pads surrounded by grass, with a picnic table and fire ring. The Southern section has two bathhouse buildings, one near the campsites dump station and a larger one with laundry facilities. The roads in the campground are narrow and not marked as one-way, but despite this, it is quiet and orderly. There is a large playground in between the two sections. The campground doesnt have a fenced dog park, but there are large open and wooded areas in and around the campsite. The campsite does not provide Wi-Fi, and cell service is reliable. The park is picturesque, with a mix of forested areas, marsh lands, and open fields with huge trees covered in Spanish moss. It has a beautiful shoreline along Lake Pontchartrain, with a stone and steel pier, a small sandy beach area, a small water park, and a pond that occasionally hosts one or more alligators. Its a great place to hike, and wildlife can frequently be seen along the edges of the woods. Overall, Fontainebleau State Park is an excellent stop for a night or two, with spacious and clean campsites, clean shower facilities, and beautiful surroundings. Its not an ideal spot for an extended stay, but its definitely worth visiting if youre in the area.

Fontainebleau State Park is a beautiful park located in Louisiana. The park offers a variety of facilities including cabins, lodges, group camps, pavilions, and meeting rooms. The park also offers all-terrain track chair rentals, boat tours, and boat rentals. Visitors can enjoy hiking, birding, and a water playground. The park also has historic markers that note the place where slave cabins once stood on the grounds of the former plantation and the other is in memory of the Native Americans who lived in the area prior to European settlement.
