What others are saying about this campground
This campground is a hidden gem located 0.2 of a mile off I-49, 15 miles from Natchitoches. It is a simple mom & pop operation, great for overnight stops and a visit in the area. The park is not well maintained with worn equipment, unpainted bathhouses, fencing, and bulletin board, but it is very clean and well cared for with an abundance of lush grass, shade and open areas. There is a mature stand of trees, so road noise is not a problem. The hook ups are ok, but the power went out due to a storm during our stay. There is a small lake with pan sized perch, but owner requested catch and release only. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable about the area and brought us homemade soup the second night we camped. The wi-fi is sporadic, but the internet is extremely fast. There are no cable TV channels, but the antenna was more than sufficient picking up around 20 channels. There is a lumber mill across the road with saws running during the day and truck traffic coming and going, but it closes early in the day so your evenings are peaceful and quiet. The only negative is the saw mill across the hwy and the tight quarters due to workers camping there to work on a major project. There is also a problem with fire ants.
