Lake Fausse Pointe State Park is a beautiful campground located in the middle of the Basin in Louisiana. It offers a variety of activities for all ages, including kayak rentals, a splash pad area, and fishing piers. The campground is surrounded by live oaks, providing plenty of shade and privacy for campers. The sites are well-maintained, with power pedestals and water on the passenger side. There are also trails with animal sightings, and the nearby town of St. Martinville is worth a visit. Unfortunately, there is no cell phone service or wifi in the park, and the water pressure is low. The roads are narrow and curvy, and the bugs can be gnarly. However, the staff is friendly and the local seafood restaurants are a great treat. The Golden Age pass is not accepted, and the dump is located on the road out of the park.

Lake Fausse Pointe State Park offers a variety of accommodations including cabins, pavilions, and a meeting room. The park also features trails, a water playground, birding opportunities, and boat rentals. Personal golf carts are allowed on the property with a permit. Passport holders are entitled to a 50% reduction on camping fees at Louisiana State Parks.
