What others are saying about this campground
Bayou Segnette State Park is a great campground for those looking to experience the Deep South. Located close to New Orleans, it offers a fish camp vibe with lots of boats on the river, boathouse cabins, and hike and bike trails. The campsites are standard, but visitors should be cautious of water as this is a bayou and the water accumulates everywhere around your RV. The campground also offers cabins, which are more like floating condos, roomy, clean and decorated much better than expected. There is free Wi-Fi in the campground, although it is filtered and has restrictions. The campground also has a free laundry and friendly, helpful staff. Be aware that the entrance/pay booth is elevated, with a steep ramp, and the driveways are narrow and elevated, making it difficult to back-in towables. There are plenty of stores nearby, although they are run down, and it can be hard to find restaurants that arent a big national chain. Mosquitoes are to be expected, so keep the lights off until you are inside the tent. Be aware of your neighbors, as they may have loud TVs and dogs. All in all, Bayou Segnette State Park is a great resource close to the city and a great place to stay while visiting New Orleans.
