Much to our surprise when we got there we found that they had just completed upgrading 38 sites to FHU with 50 amps to boot. Walnut Grove Campground is a great family-friendly campground located in the foothills of the White Mountains. Nestled between an apple orchard and a New England back road, it is the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway with easy access to the Maine coast and the New Hampshire seacoast. The campground is well-kept and offers a variety of amenities, including a pool, a store/snack bar, and large paved front area. The sites are roomy and offer full hook-ups with 50 amps. There are plenty of activities available with one area large enough to play football or throw frisbees. The campground is also equipped with WiFi, though downloading large files is restricted. Unfortunately, there is occasional noise from drinking and partying at night, as well as shooting of weapons in the woods surrounding the campground, making it unsuitable for children. Additionally, the portapotties can be smelly. Despite these drawbacks, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the campground is a great spot for a relaxing vacation.
