This campground is the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway. Located on the Saco River, the campground offers access for canoeing, kayaking, and other water activities. There is an extensive play area for kids, along with horses, sheep, ducks, rabbits, chickens, and at least one pig. The sites are spacious and bordered by evergreens for privacy, with a view of a huge open field bordered by pines. The campground is close enough to Portland, Wells, Kennebunkport, and other tourist areas, but far enough away to provide peace and quiet. The park is owned by a friendly couple who are working hard to clean up the area and provide a great camping experience. There is limited cell phone coverage and no local TV channels, but there is plenty of entertainment for the grandkids, and the dogs can enjoy swimming in the river.

Homestead By The River Family Campground is located on the Saco River, just 10 minutes away from Old Orchard Beach. It is a great place for families who enjoy swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, or taking a slow tube ride down the river. The campground offers a variety of facilities and amenities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Check-in time is from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm from Monday to Friday. The vacate time for sites is 11:00 am sharp.
