Coos Canyon Campground & Cabins in Roxbury, ME, is a friendly place located right at Coos Canyon, a winding rocky river gorge. There are some great swimming holes and spots to jump from up on the ledges. Angel Falls is about a ten-minute drive from the campground and is well worth the trip. The campground provides plenty of hiking trails including Tumble Down Mountain and no shortage of places to fish. You can rent some gear to go gold panning along the river. The camp store is cute and has a fun little scavenger hunt for kids of all ages. Its a small, cute campground, and dog-friendly. The grounds are totally pitch dark at night and far from the bathhouse, but there is one outhouse available to use. Firewood is expensive at $8, and no, its not more wood than weve seen in other places. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the campground is near the pretty canyon. Cell phone reception is limited, and wifi is only available at the camp store. They offer clean bathrooms and hot water showers for a fee. Overall, Coos Canyon Campground & Cabins is a great place to stay, and there are plenty of things to do and see in the area.
