What others are saying about this campground
There is also a lake with a beach and kayak rentals. Aroostook State Park is a secluded campground located in the beautiful woods of Maine, near the Canadian border. The campground is a great spot for tents and pop-ups, with several sites large enough to accommodate fifth wheels and motorhomes. The campground entry road is steep and a bit rough, but the distance to the campground is short. The campground is heavily wooded and shady, and offers plenty of privacy. There are seven private bathrooms with a shower stall and wash basin, perfect for families with small children. The park is on a beautiful lake, and rents canoes and kayaks very cheaply. There are some good hiking trails, including a climb of Quaggy Jo mountains South and North Peaks. The town of Presque Isle is only about 10 minutes away, and offers all services and shopping that one might need. The rangers are very friendly and helpful, and the campground is very quiet and peaceful.
