What others are saying about this campground
A We dont have a bar). The Birches Resort and Campground in Rockwood, Maine is a beautiful log cabin resort situated on the prettiest part of Moosehead Lake. The resort offers a handful of campsites for RV’s and tents, as well as a variety of cabins, all with great views. There is a full-service restaurant serving three meals a day, a historic lodge with wood burning fires, and a marina with boat rentals and seaplane flights. The best campsite (#5) backs up to the lake, providing spectacular sunrises and views. The tent sites are private and spacious, with picnic tables, rock-lined fire rings, low electric hook-up, and a water spigot. The restroom/showers are older but clean. There are so many outdoor activities between hiking, fishing, paddling, and just enjoying the natural beauty. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. However, the RV sites are not well-maintained and the electric hook-ups are insufficient to run a microwave. The bar is populated by two seemingly incompatible groups, so it may not be suitable for families with young children. There are also lots of bugs and the hot-tub is far from the campground.
