The campground is the closest to downtown Portland, about 6 miles out, and luckily has security to keep the area secure overnight. Despite being relatively close to the airport, Saco street noise can be loud, and airplanes overhead can be heard frequently, starting early in the morning. Overall, Wassamki Springs is ideal for families who want to enjoy the amenities provided and friendly staff. However, if you are looking for a more serene and peaceful camping experience, this campground may not be the best fit for you.
