Wassamki Springs Campground is a family-oriented and friendly camping site located in Scarborough, ME. The spacious campsites have ample room for your tow vehicle, and the facility features a nice lake area with a variety of outdoor activities including volleyball, playgrounds, pickleball, and basketball courts. While the roads are primarily dirt, they are wide enough to easily maneuver around and all the interiors sites have well-parked cars. Most campsites are occupied by seasonal occupants, with some in better shape than others, and the park can be a little challenging at first to find your way around as the map given at check-in is not to scale or correct. However, the friendly staff provides quick and easy check-in and directs you to your site. The campground is the closest to downtown Portland, about 6 miles out, and luckily has security to keep the area secure overnight. Despite being relatively close to the airport, Saco street noise can be loud, and airplanes overhead can be heard frequently, starting early in the morning. Overall, Wassamki Springs is ideal for families who want to enjoy the amenities provided and friendly staff. However, if you are looking for a more serene and peaceful camping experience, this campground may not be the best fit for you.

It offers a one-mile sandy beach and is only minutes away from Casco Bay, Portland's Old Port, shopping areas, restaurants, ocean beaches, and attractions. The campground is open from May 1st to October 15th and offers facilities for convenient camping in the Portland area.
