What others are saying about this campground
Greenbelt Campground is a mid-sized campground located just 2 miles from Washington D.C. and 1.5 miles from the nearest Metro Station. The campground is well maintained, though some sites are currently closed due to tree damage. The campground is run by the National Park Service and offers ranger programs and nighttime campfire talks. There are 4 loops (A, B, C, D) with A being for scouts, B & C for tents and small RVs, and D for dry camping only. There are bathhouses and plenty of water spigots in the loop. The campground is quiet and peaceful, and visitors can enjoy the wildlife like deer and birds. The Metro station is a 10 minute drive away and offers an affordable way to visit D.C. There are no hook-ups and the sites are close together. The campground is primitive and there is tall grass which can attract ticks and other bugs. The roads are tight and sites are paved but unlevel. Hanging hammocks is not allowed.
