GenieSummary
Verizon cellular showed 2 bars of LTE but speeds were too slow to be usable for internet. Although the two pools and playground afforded some time away from the campsite, there really wasnt much room or privacy to enjoy the site and there was a lot of traffic noise due to the major road located behind it. The 6 miles it takes to get to the campground off the interstate is a very curvy and mountainous road. There is a cool little bar down the road called Bills Place that serves dinner. The roads are gravel and winding and narrow, so it is not recommended for big rigs. The office staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel at home.
From The Campground
Where the Potomac River snakes out of the Western Maryland highlands near Little Orleans, MD lies the Ridge Rider Campground. We claim more than 220 acres of the country’s most beautiful, practically untouched woodlands, but it’s all yours – to explore, to fish, to commune with nature and your fellow travelers, whatever is your desire. Equally home to the rugged and the relaxed, Ridge Rider is pure camping in the best American tradition, whether you’re tent camping, driving your RV or staying in a quaint cabin. Your family will treasure Ridge Rider. We have some unique features, like group tenting and air conditioned and heated, cabins where some are pet friendly. We’re also a favorite for whole-season guests.
