GenieSummary

Elk Neck is a beautiful campground located halfway between Philadelphia and Washington, DC. It has been clean and quiet since 1980, and the campground is well maintained and equipped. There are several camping loops, including pet-friendly Miles and North East loops, and the Chester loop. The North East loop provides electric, sewage, and water hookups, and is perfect for larger RVs. The sites are a good size, with plenty of space and not too close to other sites. There are also plenty of trails to explore, including a four-mile hike to the North East Beach Area for swimming and fishing. The bathrooms are clean, the camp store is well stocked, and the park staff is friendly and helpful. There is also plenty of dry, dead, downed wood to be found if one is inclined to gather their own. Major renovations are being planned for the picnic shelters and a few camping loops in the months leading up to events, so be sure to check for updates before planning a visit.

From The Campground

Elk Neck State Park is located in Cecil County on a peninsula, formed by the Chesapeake Bay on the west and the Elk River on the east. The park has 2,370 acres of land with varied landscapes that include marshlands, heavily wooded areas, white clay cliffs and sandy shorelines. The park is divided into four areas: Turkey Point Lighthouse Area, North East Beach Area, Rogues Harbor Boat Launch Facility, and Elk River Camping Area. The Elk River Camping Area offers over 250 campsites, 16 cabins, a youth group camping area, park store, playground, and a nature center.
