GenieSummary

Bay Shore Campground in Rock Hall, MD has amazing views of the bay. The sunsets are breathtaking. The site was fine, with water and power working without a problem. The fire pit ring was nice and the picnic table was in good shape. The gravel pad was almost level. While the store may not be well-stocked, the staff were helpful and willing to assist with whatever we needed. They also provide two dump tanks that work fine. There is no bathroom or shower, however, which can be a problem since the bathhouse is still closed. This is a significant concern given the cost per night which can reach almost $100. In terms of amenities, there is no pool, and very few activities are planned for kids or adults. Nonetheless, the well-kept campground and the roads are easy to navigate. There are a lot of permanent sites with friendly tenants. The small town of Rock Hall, with great restaurants on the water, a grocery store, and plenty of little shops to explore, is just a few minutes away. The Eastern Wildlife Refuge, minutes away in the other direction, offers trails and fishing. Overall, the location is the highlight of Bay Shore Campground.

From The Campground

Bayshore Campground is located along the Eastern Shore of Rock Hall Maryland, directly on the Chesapeake Bay. This waterfront destination offers a great camping experience, unique to other campgrounds. Our campground sits one story above sea level, offering breath taking sunsets every night and amazing views of the landscape. This elevation provides a nice breeze on hot summer nights. There is not much of a beach, but when the tide is low, you can savage for valuable sea glass, seashells, arrowheads and driftwood along the shoreline. You are welcome to fish off the Rocks on the Bay or in one of our two ponds, stocked with fish for catch and release. Do not be surprised if you catch a glimpse of our nations’ favorite bird, the Bald Eagle. Our tranquil location is the perfect place for relaxation, bonding with family and unwinding from life’s busy schedules. Spring, Summer and Fall are always the best times to visit, however we are open year round for the adventurists that want to camp in the colder months of the year. Three miles south of Bayshore Campground is Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge, which includes great nature trails, amazing bird watching and access to the meeting point of the Chester River and the Chesapeake Bay. Three miles north of Bayshore Campground is the town of Rock Hall, also known as the Pearl of the Chesapeake. Rock Hall is a charming town including restaurants, shopping, marinas, coffee shops, entertainment and much more to explore . Visit all of Kent County’s Historic Towns, situated on a scenic peninsula of Maryland’s Upper Eastern Shore, where the Chester River and Sassafras Rivers meander into the Chesapeake Bay.
