From The Campground

Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is a 2,700-acre reserve with open waters, barrier beaches, marshlands, and uplands. It is representative of a typical shallow bay environment. Visitors can enjoy hiking and walking on miles of trails running through marshes, beaches, rivers, and woodlands. Educational programs are also available for school field trips and teacher workshops. Camping, hunting, fishing, and canoeing and kayaking are also available. Camping is available on Washburn Island, which is only accessible by private boat. There are no electric hookups or running water on the island. Campers must bring their own supplies and water.
