Wompatuck State Park is a great option for exploring the state parks in MA. At just $17/night for a tent site with an additional $6 per night for electricity, its an excellent value. However, non-MA residents should be aware that it can cost up to $54/night without electricity. Litter can be a problem throughout the park and at individual sites, so camping here requires a bit of clean-up effort. The bathroom and shower facilities are generally well-maintained, and especially clean compared to the rest of the park. The campsite itself is spacious and equipped with a fire pit and picnic table. The electric towers are impressive: they offer two camper plugins and two regular outlets. The park is also ideal for geocaching enthusiasts! While Wompatuck may not be the best state park in MA, its worth staying at for those looking to experience all that the state has to offer.
From The Campground
Wompatuck State Park spans 3,526 acres of forest, streams and ponds. Offering an over 250 site campground, 12 miles of non-motorized roads and 40 miles of forest trails, the park is a great place to get into nature. The park features accessible camping, biking, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, mountain biking, boating (non-motorized), snowmobiling, boat launch, paved bike paths, picnic areas, restrooms, showers, trailer/R.V. dumping, trailer/R.V. hookup, and a visitors center.
