Massasoit State Park is a great place for outdoor fun with family and friends. It features a variety of activities such as hiking, walking, biking, fishing, and exploring. The park has recently reopened for camping in 2018 and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The sites are close together but surprisingly private, and the comfort stations are clean and well maintained. Leashed pets are welcome and the playground is great for the kids. There is a pond for swimming and kayaking but it is a bit muddy and can be crowded with families of fishermen. Mosquitoes can be a problem, so bring bug spray and a thermacell. The campground can accommodate up to 30 foot rigs but is closed for the 2009 season. Despite the muddy pond and mosquitoes, Massasoit State Park is a great place for a simple trip or group rally.
