Clarksburg State Park is a beautiful, serene campground located in the northwest corner of Massachusetts. Its old growth pine forest and large boulders provide a stunning backdrop for visitors. The pond view sites are perfect for tents, and visitors can enjoy the nearby lake, which is ideal for kayaking and canoeing. The park is close to several historical sites, including Bennington Battle Monument (VT), The Natural Bridge, and Heritage Park Museum. Additionally, the park is close to Mount Greylock, the tallest mountain in Massachusetts. The campsites do not have hookups, but there is a dump station available at Savoy Mountain State Forest. The park staff are friendly and helpful, though the handicap facilities, particularly the showers, are outdated. Despite this, the park is a great place to visit for a weekend getaway, and is perfect for hiking, wildlife watching, and exploring the nearby attractions.
From The Campground
Clarksburg State Park offers 368 acres of abundant northern hardwood forest. Come camp, hike, ski, go boating or fishing and enjoy the views. The campground has 45 well-spaced and wooded campsites located near the pond, including restrooms and showers. There are 9.5 miles of foot trails surrounding the nearby pond where you may observe a variety of wildlife, and perhaps even a moose. Other activities include swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating (non-motorized), fishing, and cross-country skiing. The park has a boat ramp (car top), grills, pavilion (fees apply; contact ReserveAmerica to reserve), picnic areas, restrooms, and showers. Camping is $17/night for Massachusetts residents and $54/night for non-residents. Reserving the pavilion for the day costs $65.
