This campground is located in the historic town of North Adams and is run by the city. It is a great spot for camping, with a small lake with bald eagles flying around, a beach area for swimming, and plenty of shaded, spacious sites. There are two small tent sites at $25 a night and some sites have power at a distance, requiring a long cord. The staff is friendly and helpful, but the campground is in need of an upgrade. There is no hot water and the shower house is not well cleaned. Access roads to the park from town can be difficult for larger rigs, so be sure to get specific directions from the office. The Appalachian Trail and other hiking spots are nearby, as well as beautiful Williamstown and art galleries.
