Winter Island Park in Salem, MA is a unique and beautiful escape that has been a go-to spot for many people for years. It offers a combination of grass field and pavement camping sites that were repurposed from an Air National Guard and Coast Guard rescue station. The scenic views of the sunset and sunrise over the water are truly breathtaking. The bathrooms are older but well maintained and cleaned regularly, with hot showers that are perfect for the cooler New England fall weather. While the sites are tightly spaced, it doesnt take away from the overall experience. It is helpful to take the truck route in and out of Salem and to pay attention to the old exit numbers while driving on the freeway. This park can get noisy during the day with day use and party rentals, but it all wraps up by nightfall. The staff are very friendly and helpful, making guests feel welcome throughout their stay at Winter Island Park.

Winter Island Park is a maritime park that offers RV and tent camping, public boat ramp, dinghy rack spaces, gift & camping store, outing areas for rent, public beach, Salem Trolley Tour Stop, historic Fort Pickering Lighthouse, and a wonderful wedding venue. The campground is exclusively available for reservation on reserveamerica.com and can be booked online up to six (6) months in advance of their scheduled ‘First Night’.
