The campground is close to downtown and the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center. This campground is a great place to stay for those looking to explore the beauty of northern Michigan. It is located along the Thunder Bay River, offering stunning views of the river, swans, geese, and ducks. The campground has 66 sites total, with 6 sites along the river offering 30 amp electric (some are 50 amp). There is also a potable water fill-up and dump station, as well as male and female bathroom and shower rooms. The campground is also located along a bike path that runs through the city, making it easy to explore the area. The sites are level and all have electric, and the campground is close to downtown and the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center. The only downside is the proliferation of Canadian geese, which can leave behind their droppings. Cash and check are accepted for payment.
