From The Campground

Black River Harbor Recreation Area is a beautiful campground located in the Ottawa National Forest. The campground offers 39 campsites with fire rings, picnic tables, and access to vault toilets. Reservations are accepted for 23 sites, while 17 sites are first come, first served. The campground is open 24 hours a day and fees are $16 a night. The campground also offers a picnic area with 26 accessible picnic tables, outdoor grills, and flush toilets. The Black River Harbor Pavilion is available for group use by reservation. The campground offers access to Lake Superior for boating and fishing, with a boat ramp, docking, and fuel available. The beach area is sandy and open for swimming, but there is no lifeguard on duty. The campground also offers several opportunities for hiking, with short trails to waterfalls and access to the North Country Trail. The Black River Scenic Byway is also accessible from the campground.
