What others are saying about this campground
Cheboygan State Park is a rustic campground located just outside of town. It offers a variety of campsites, some with electrical outlets, and access to Duncan Bay for kayaking and canoeing. The beach is accessible by car or kayak, and has a bathhouse and sandy bottom. The campground is relatively small, with many campsites in a relatively small area, but the greenery provides a sense of privacy. There is a vault toilet and hand pump for water, and the campground is dog and family-friendly. The gravel road entry is not a favorite, but the park is quiet and away from any noise and traffic. It is a great base of operations for activities in the surrounding communities, and is only 16 miles from Mackinaw City and the ferry to Mackinac Island. There is no ranger presence, however, and the cell phone reception is only occasional. The beach is a few miles down a gravely road, and the campground is damp, so bring extra towels and bug repellent.
