Green Lake Rustic Campground is a great place to camp for those looking for a peaceful getaway. Located in the Waterloo State Recreation area, about 6 miles north of Chelsea MI, Green Lake is a great spot for campers and RVs with electrical hookups on each site. There is a nice sandy beach with a playground and volleyball net, as well as small dirt trails for hiking and biking. The campground is very open and not very private, so it may not be the best place for those looking for a more secluded experience. There are also 3 pit toilets, a hand pump, and a small garbage site. The lake is not suitable for swimming, but is great for kayaking and other small craft boating. There is also a Yurt for rent which is a great option for a romantic getaway. The campground is very quiet and well-behaved, and is becoming more and more popular due to its proximity to the nearby DTE bike trail.
