Proud Lake is a scenic campground located on the Huron River in Metro Detroit. It is a wooded oasis with lots of wildlife and gives you the feel of being up north. The campground has a modern bathroom facility with showers, electric hookups with 50, 30, and 110, and a boat launch and canoe/kayak livery on site. There is a host site with activities and a lending library for books and some sporting equipment. The trails are great for mountain biking, and the campground is family-friendly, with activities like trick-or-treating during Halloween and costume contests. The bathrooms are recently renovated and are spacious, tiled, well maintained, and very modern. The campground is crowded and loud on the weekends, but quiet during the weekdays. There is no water or sewer at the RV sites, but there is 5G cell service and the sites are close to stores like Home Depot, Meijer, Walmart, and REI. The sites are unlevel and tight, so it can be difficult to get a large RV or trailer parked and leveled.
