Cover Park & Beach Campground is the perfect destination for a summer getaway. Located in a little valley between the dunes and the hills of town, the campground is situated a short walk away from a beautiful and clean beach with incredible sunsets. The sites are surprisingly large and separated by heavy rope attached to posts, making it family friendly. There are two loops with water/30 amp electric sites (no full hookups), a dump station, as well as primitive tent sites and small cabin rentals. The campground has a 1/4 mile stretch of Lake Michigan beach that is uncrowded and perfect for relaxing. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the office sells small supplies, firewood, ice, drinks, and ice cream. Recent years have brought some upgrades in walking paths (to the beach) and a new bathhouse in the smaller loop. Be aware that there is no cell service or wifi, and the mosquitos can be a bit rough in the summer. However, the short walk to the beach and the beautiful views make this campground worth it.
