What others are saying about this campground
D H Day Campground is the perfect place to explore the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Enjoy direct beach access with a short path over the dunes, or take a stroll to historic Glen Harbor. The Heritage bike/hike trail (22 mi.) runs right through the campground, and there are 17 nearby trails to explore. The Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is also nearby. Sites are compacted and close together, but the beach and view of the stars make up for anything thats lacking. The campground has vaulted toilets, community water, and trash. Make sure to bring bug spray! A few miles away, the little town of Glen Arbor has a smattering of shops, restaurants, and a market and gas station. The Crystal River also runs through here and is great for kayaking, tubing, or canoeing. Drive a few miles and you can climb Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes or head over to Empire Village Beach for a perfect sunset and place for kids to play. Reserve 6 months in advance to get your site, and dont expect to explore everything in one day!
