Gladstone Campground is a great spot for a quick getaway, located just north of Escanaba and off the highway. With plenty of trees and a river to the right, the campground has a peaceful, secluded feel. It offers 82 sites, 4 of which are pull-through spots. All sites have 50 amp power, water, and cable TV, and some have additional amenities such as a fire ring, picnic table, and a view of the river. The park is well-maintained and clean, and there are plenty of activities to enjoy, such as a free disc golf course and playground. Unfortunately, the mosquitoes can be quite bad, so bug spray is a must. There is also road noise from Route 2/41 and trains passing by throughout the day and night. The staff is friendly and helpful, and check-in instructions are available on the office door if no one is present. With a bit of caution when entering and exiting the park, Gladstone Campground is a great spot for a peaceful stay.
