It is a first come first serve campground, so you have to get there early to get a spot. Sites are close together, but it is a nice campground. There are two playgrounds for the kids, and a fish cleaning station. The sites have water and electric hookups, and fire rings. The campground is located on a bluff with stairs leading to Agate Beach, and beautiful sunset views over the lake. It is a short drive to numerous waterfalls and hiking trails, and about an hour drive to Munising, MI where you can take a boat cruise to view the Painted Rock National Shoreline. Grand Marais Township Campground is a great spot for a camping getaway. Located on the shore of Lake Superior, the campground offers breathtaking views, easy access to the beach, and plenty of activities in the area. The sites are well-spaced, with water and electric hookups, fire rings, and cable TV hookups. There are two playgrounds for the kids, a fish cleaning station, and a dump station. The campground is first come, first served, so its important to arrive early to get a spot. The campground also has clean bathrooms and hot showers, although you need quarters to use them. The nearby town of Grand Marais offers groceries, ice, and other amenities, and is within walking distance of the campground. Whether youre looking for a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy nature or a base camp for exploring the area, Grand Marais Township Campground is a great choice.

From The Campground

Woodland Park is a campground situated on the shore of Lake Superior, only three blocks from the main business area of Grand Marais. The park offers 78 reservable sites and 89 first-come/first-serve sites, with facilities including two fully equipped bathhouses, laundry facilities, play areas for children, beach access, gray water and sewage dump stations, and a drinking water fill station. Adjacent to the park is the town’s recreation area, which includes tennis courts, pickle ball court, a basketball court, a baseball/softball diamond, pet friendly area, a picnic area, and a tot lot. The campground offers prime lakefront, lakefront, electric, and primitive sites. Showers are free to campers and available to non-registered campers for $3 per use.
