What others are saying about this campground
Hartwick Pines State Forest is a beautiful and serene campground nestled in the Michigan woods. It is open all year round and offers large, wooded sites with picnic tables, fire rings, electric hookups, flush toilets, and a variety of activities and educational opportunities. The park is big rig friendly and has full hookups. There are also trails for biking and hiking, a day use/mucc logging museum, and a small lake for fishing. The Old Growth Forest walk/hike is a must-see and the visitors building and educational cabins are great for learning about the areas logging history. The campground is also very quiet and private, with plenty of trees for seclusion. There are also showers and bathrooms that are always spotless. AT&T phone service is non-existent in the campground, but a signal can be had in the Visitors Center parking lot. Reservations are recommended in the summer months as the park fills up quickly.
