Travel Plaza is a comfortable, clean and friendly RV park in the Houghton Lake Area. It is conveniently located close to the lake and to town for shopping, as well as Higgins Lake State Park with lakeshore access, walking trails, picnic areas and a boat launch. The sites are mostly level and grass covered, with a decent amount of space between rigs. The interior roads need some gravel to fill some deep holes and ruts, but eliminating the potholes and putting gravel down would be a major improvement. There is a playground for the kiddos, a nice little store with great ice cream, and a pool and dog run. The staff offers extra services for seasonals and visitors, like emptying tanks and delivering firewood. It is a great place to stay with a beautiful oak tree to shade from the morning sun.
