Lake Ottawa Recreation Area is a beautiful campground located in the Ottawa National Forest. The campground has 32 sites available for camping, with picnic tables and flush double units in each campsite. The campground is open from May to September and fees are $18 a night. Reservations are accepted for 16 sites, while 15 first-come, first-served sites are also available. The campground is adjacent to Lake Ottawa, which provides opportunities for boating, fishing, and swimming. The lake has a boat ramp with ample parking for trailers. The campground also provides access to the Iron River headwaters, which is a great spot for river and stream fishing. The Ge-Che Trail is accessible from the campground and provides a scenic hike through primarily hardwood forest. The Lake Ottawa day use area provides indoor facilities for a group picnic and a large outdoor picnic area complete with picnic tables and grills. The area is large enough to provide plenty of space for all.
