GenieSummary

Kinross / Kincheloe Township RV Park is a quaint campground with full hookups and some shade. The sites are level and all roads are paved. It is within a 1/2 hour of Sault Ste Marie, Soo Locks, and the Ship Wreck Museum. The campground is near an airport and across the street from a prison, but there is no air traffic and it is fairly quiet. There is no office or anyone to speak with regarding your site, but there is a box with envelopes to fill out and put money in. The campground is very affordable, with full 30 amp hookups for only $20 per night. The bathrooms are not in the building labeled restrooms, but there are good quality power and water hookups. There are some damages outlets and clogged sewers, and some of the electric poles are far to the back of the sites and off to the right or left. The clubhouse looks run-down inside, and the ancient class c camper next to us doesnt appear to be movable and has no sewer hooked up. The campground is located in a poor small town with no amenities, so plan on driving 30 minutes to Sault Sainte Marie for groceries, restaurants, and anything else you could possibly want to do.

From The Campground

Kinross R.V. Parks offers two campgrounds, R.V. Park East and R.V. Park West, both located just minutes away from 'The Oaks at Kincheloe', an 18 hole championship style public golf course, 2 swimming and fishing lakes, ORV and equestrian trails, several churches, a laundromat, restaurants, gas stations, grocery and hardware store, R.V. Repair dealer and other retail stores. The Kinross Rec Center also has many events as well as ball diamonds, a computer lab and an exercise room to offer visitors to the area. Both of these campgrounds are also centrally located for day trips to areas such as Tahquamenon Falls, Sault Ste. Marie, St. Ignace, Mackinac Island and numerous other destinations. R.V. Park East offers 64 back-in sites with 20/30 amp service, some with shade, on good paved interior roads. The large bathhouse has flush toilets and shower facilities and there is a Clubhouse for get-togethers for card and board games or the occasional Pot Luck dinner. Public telephone, horseshoes, picnic tables and firepits are also available. R.V. Park West is located in a bit more rural setting than its sister park. Less than a mile from I-75 at exit 378, this park is located at the rear of the Kinross Community Park; the site of the annual Chippewa County Fair. R.V. West has dirt roads and grass campsites as well as a modern bathhouse. There are 52 sites with water and electric and many more rustic tent sites. Both campgrounds offer senior rates for those 65 and older, full hook-up sites, and primitive sites. Dogs are allowed on a leash no more than six feet long, but are not permitted on swimming beaches. A complete list of rules can be found at each campground office. Kinross Township is proud to have a Heritage Park and Military Museum in our community. This park is located across from Kinross Community Park and boasts two museums, one historical and the other military. There is a 1902 one-room schoolhouse, a furnished log cabin built in 1882 and a half-mile nature trail to entice the naturalist in you. There is also a gift shop and used book store in the Heritage Museum. The Military Museum shares the site and is a superb testament to numerous military personnel; both past and present, from the local area. Admission is Free at both museums.
