What others are saying about this campground
Beware of mosquitos. This campground is a beautiful and peaceful spot to spend the night. Located on a small lake with warm water coming up from the bottom, there are plenty of camp spots with fire pits and trees between them. There are also plenty of places to launch a canoe or kayak and small beach areas for swimming. The pit toilets are clean and the camp hosts are friendly. Wildlife such as deer and grouse can be seen and there are signs of bears in the area. There is no power or hook ups, but the lake access makes it easy to launch kayaks. Be sure to bring your own hand sanitizer and be aware of mosquitos.

From The Campground
Soldier Lake Campground is a remote and relaxing campground located in Hiawatha National Forest. The campground offers 44 sites among red pine, aspen, and maple trees, each with a table and fire ring. There is drinking water and vault toilets, as well as easy access to the lake throughout the recreation area. The campground also features a large picnic area that can accommodate large groups, with tables, grills, water, and vault toilets. A large picnic shelter, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's, is available for protection from a sudden shower. The shelter has tables and a fireplace for when the weather turns chilly. The campground is located near the North Country National Scenic Trail, which offers hiking and backpacking opportunities. Fishing is also available at Soldier Lake, where visitors can catch bass and perch. Non-motorized boating and swimming are also popular activities at the lake.
