Orchard Beach State Park is a beautiful campground located on the bluffs of Lake Michigan, just a few miles outside of Manistee. The campground offers breathtaking views of the lake, as well as a nature trail across the street. Most of the sites are shaded and have 30amp electric, with some sites offering full hookup and 50amp service. Firewood and ice are available for purchase, but there is no camp store on site. There are stairs leading down to the lake, however, due to the high lake level, the beach is not accessible from the campground. The sites are unlevel and mostly back ins on grass, and the bathrooms are old and may not always have toilet paper. Traffic can be heavy in and out of the park, so it is not recommended for families with small children. Despite its drawbacks, Orchard Beach State Park is a great place to stay for a night or an extended stay, and offers a great camping experience with beautiful views of Lake Michigan.
