Yankee Springs Campground is a great family-friendly destination for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Located in the Yankee Springs Recreation Area, this heavily wooded campground is situated close to Gun Lake, offering plenty of opportunities for swimming, fishing, and other water activities. With 120 sites, half of which are reserveable, the campground is typically quite busy, especially during holidays. The sites have 30 amp electricity but no water or sewer connections, making it ideal for those who are fully self-contained. The roads are a little narrow, but navigating a 37 foot fifth wheel is still possible. There is a fire pit and picnic table on each lot, as well as public picnic areas near the beach and boat launch areas. The campground also offers a sandy beach, playground, and hiking trails through the woods. The camp store is located about a mile away and the dump station is located at the nearby Gun Lake modern campground. The campground is also patrolled by park rangers to ensure that it remains a family-friendly environment.
