What others are saying about this campground
Sterling State Park is a unique campground located between a nuclear power plant and a coal-powered DTE plant. The sites are all in full sun, with limited privacy between them, but most campers are respectful. There is a boat launch, several fishing piers, and a kayak launch into a small inlet. The park also has a bike path that will take you to downtown Monroe and the Historic Rasin River Battlefield. All the sites have 30amp electric, with many offering full hookup, and all have a blacktop pad for parking or trailer setup. There is also a beach a short walk from any site, mostly sandy with small rocks occasionally. The park is great for RV camping, with open space and access to Lake Erie for good fishing. There are also typical family camp amenities, such as a playground and bike and walking trails. The bathrooms are modern and kept clean. However, there is not much shade and the beach can be busy and littered. Additionally, this campground attracts weekend partiers, so if you want privacy or peace and quiet, you may want to look elsewhere.
