This campground is perfect for those who are looking for a peaceful and serene camping experience. Located about 15 miles outside of St. Ignace on US-2, the campground offers dry camping, water fill, and no dump. There are plenty of trees for shade and cool breezes off the lake to keep you comfortable. The campground is situated just over the dune from Lake Michigan, providing breathtaking views and plenty of beach to explore. The biggest downside of this campground is the proximity to the highway and the road noise that comes with it. However, the noise quiets down after dark for a good nights sleep. The camp hosts are friendly and helpful and the outhouse bathrooms are clean. This campground is really designed for tent camping, and is not suitable for motorhomes due to the vegetation.

Lake Michigan Campground is located in Hiawatha National Forest and offers 35 campsites nestled in sand dunes that can reach heights of 30-feet tall. The campground is an excellent place to enjoy the dunes, waves, sand, and wind. Over the sand dunes, visitors can find miles of sand beach. The campground is suitable for both tent and RV camping. The area is home to water birds, ducks, and shorebirds. Visitors can enjoy activities such as hiking, fishing, and swimming. Boat and canoe rentals are available at the store located at the nearby Brevoort Lake Campground and at resorts on the lake.
