This campground is a hidden gem located right on the shores of Lake Superior. It is close to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Grand Marais, and is perfect for nature lovers. The beach is rocky and full of driftwood, and the campground is protected by a small row of trees. Swimming in the lake is always cold, but refreshing, and the fishing in the nearby rivers is great. Wildlife is abundant, and on clear nights, star gazing is fantastic. The campground has 18 first come, first serve sites, all with direct access to the beach, fire pits, and picnic tables. The vault toilets are not the best, but the views and proximity to nature make up for it. The dirt roads to get to the campground can be bumpy, but the scenery is worth it. Bring a cooler for the bugs, and a blacklight to find yooperlites. This is the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of Lake Superior.
