What others are saying about this campground
Muskallonge Lake State Park is a 217 acre camping oasis in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. With a combination of full sites and rustic sites, Muskallonge Lake State Park offers a great location for camping, kayaking, and beach fun. The campground is close to the eastern end of the 40-mile long Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Tahquamenon Falls, and the Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point. However, the roads to these attractions are gravel and can be slow to travel on. The campground itself is spacious and offers a variety of sites, including 50-amp sites with gravel patios, picnic tables, and fire pits. There is a swim beach (no boats allowed) near the playground that is popular in hot weather. A concrete boat launch with a short dock is also available for motorboats and paddle craft. Cell service and internet are not available, but there is a Wi-Fi connection at the front ranger station. Muskallonge Lake is a great spot for fishing, and there are plenty of hiking trails in the area. ORV riders can take their vehicles in and out of the park, but are not allowed to stop anywhere. The campground is also close to Munising for the Pictured Rocks boat tour, Oswalds Bear Ranch, and Tahquamenon Falls. The nearest grocery store is in Newberry, about a half hour away. Muskallonge Lake State Park is a great spot to relax and enjoy nature, and is a great basecamp for exploring the Upper Peninsula.
