GenieSummary
Hayes State Park is a great family-friendly campground located in the Irish Hills. With a huge beach, large boat dock, and plenty of campsite spaces with power, there is something for everyone. Picnic areas with tables are spaced along the beach, and there are plenty of activities such as volleyball courts, horseshoes, and two lakes with good fishing. The campsites are relatively close together, and the sites in the wooded area can be unlevel. There is a three bay dump station, but no WiFi or cell phone data. There is a ranger office with lots of information, and a bathroom building with warm showers. The fire pits and tables are conveniently located next to the driveways. A state park pass is required in addition to the camping fee. There were some issues with noise from a party group and an unleashed puppy, but the rangers were around often and all was quiet by midnight.
