Although the sites are close together with no physical separation, the lakefront view and the presence of a large number of amenities make it a great place to stay.

From The Campground

Ontonagon Township Park is a premiere Lake Superior camping destination located on the southern shore of Lake Superior and just a short drive from the Porcupine Mountains. Campers can enjoy spacious shady sites and spectacular sunsets on the sandy beaches of Gitche Gumee. The campground offers a variety of sites to fit any camper's ideal experience, including newer premium sites with unprecedented beach access, a more social setting in the main part of the campground, and more secluded wooded sites across the road. All sites have electricity and water, and there are plenty of campground amenities and other local attractions to keep visitors busy. The park does not accept reservations, but available sites can be held for the day of arrival by calling the park office.
