Clearwater Campground in Ortonville, MI is a great park that feels like an oasis despite being located on a busy north/south road (M-15). The campground offers cement pads that are wide enough to include the picnic table and most of them have trees on each side, enhancing privacy. In addition to these sites, there are also sites on a grassy area, a tent camping area, and a couple of log cabins that look very nice. Beyond the campsites, there is a small private lake with a beach and a sandy bottom, several fishing docks, and a walking path that goes all around the lake. They also have a floating dock that you can jump from or relax on and a nice childrens play area. Visitors to the campground have reported encountering chickens, goats, peacocks, and ponies on the property. While the roads within the campground are paved and most of the staff, owners, and residents are friendly, some facilities are in need of improvement. Several visitors report that the laundry room stays busy and that several machines were down on their visit. The showers at the campground are reportedly not great, as there is no way to adjust the water temperature, and the water runs based on a push-button that doesnt last long, 30 seconds or so.
