GenieSummary

This campground is a great place for families and travelers alike. It is located on a river and is surrounded by lots of trees for shade. The campground is well maintained and has a variety of amenities, including electric and water hookups, cable, Wi-Fi, a heated pool, a convenience store, a playground, a basketball court, a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, fishing, paddling, disc golf, shuffle board, laundry rooms, and clean restrooms. It is also close to Ludington and Lake Michigan, making it a great jumping off point to catch the Lake Michigan car ferry in Luddington. The campground has a separate tent camping primitive area and a group camping site with its own shelter. It also has a dump station, but the location is off level so you cant completely empty tanks and there is no water faucet to back flush tanks. Be aware of low branches, especially at registration parking by office. This is a great place to stay when you are traveling through in a motorhome or when you are looking for a weekend getaway with the family.

From The Campground

The Western Michigan Old Engine Club Annual Show takes place on the first weekend of August at Scottville's Riverside Park. The event features a display of old engines and machinery. Visitors can enjoy the unique handcrafted items at the arts and crafts fairs scheduled throughout the year in Traverse City. West Michigan is also a great place for biking, with many nice paths to ride and enjoy the scenery. The area boasts numerous museums to learn about the rich history of West Michigan. Visitors can take a tour of the Historic S.S. City of Milwaukee car ferry and the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Acacia docked in Manistee. The Traverse City Opera House offers a place for quality arts and cultural entertainment. For outdoor enthusiasts, the Silver Lake State Park is a must-visit destination, offering boating, fishing, swimming, and ORV activities.
