Visitors love the hiking trails and the views of Mackinac Bridge. The waterfront sites are the most popular and have breathtaking views, but they can be challenging due to stormy weather. The campground offers clean bathrooms and showers, as well as centrally located dumpsters and doggie bags. Firewood is available at $6 per bundle, and there are big fire pits for visitors to use. The staff is very helpful and courteous. Although there is some traffic noise from the north end of the bridge tollbooths, visitors enjoy the proximity to the water and the bridge. Overall, Straits State Park is recommended by many visitors and is a must-visit for anyone camping in northern Michigan.
