What others are saying about this campground
This campground is a great option for those wanting to explore the Traverse City area. It is located across the street from Grand Traverse Bay and a nice sand beach, with a pedestrian bridge for easy access to the beach. It is also close to downtown Traverse City, the Leelanau Wine Trail, and the TART Trail, a 10.5-mile bicycle trail. The campground has over 500 campsites, all with fire rings and picnic tables, however there are no dedicated tent pads. The sites are set among tall pine trees, providing some shade, but they are also sandy with little grass. The campground can be noisy due to the nearby highway, railroad tracks, and airport, but it is a great basecamp for exploring the area. Amenities include electric, bathrooms, showers, trash and recycling, firewood, water, and ice.
